Negotiation Claims

Members are advised that early in December 2006 there will be a General Local Meeting to discuss the contract negotiation claims. The time, date and location TBA next week.

Members are asked to discuss issues that the negotiation team can take to Fire Service management. These will be collated on a regional basis through branch meetings then nationally.

Retiring off Duty

Members are advised that if they retire off duty whilst on Overtime, their Sick Leave balance is not adjusted and they continue to be paid for the full day.

Local Committee Meeting

Members are advised that the Wellington Local Committee will be meeting on Monday 4th December at the Union Office, Nelson Street Petone.

Amongst other things the Local will be discussing:
Special group to look at line rescue
Better ways to involve local members, discussion documents etc
Better ways to disseminate information and explain information and decisions
Line rescue, notice to members for interim action over non qualified crews on trucks
Proposed volunteer placement program

HAZMAT / COMMAND APPLIANCE

Members should be aware that District Manager Mackereth has unilaterally made the decision to remove the Hazmat Command Appliance from immediate response to confirmed structure fire incidents for incidents in Auckland City Central Fire District.
