The Union has been advised formally today of the dates the Fire Service is working to for the above payments. The dates are:

  1. Lump Sum - 27 January 2010

  2. 2. Back Pay/New Rates 10 March 2010 but there is a possibility of 24 February 2010.

The Union is advised that the delay, particularly for the Back Pay/New Rates is related to the payroll system itself, the complexity of the various calculations necessary and the need to ensure accuracy.

However, the Union believes the delay is unacceptable and the Committee will consider options in response to this advice.

The Union received on 13 January 2010, the Draft Collective Agreement for checking. A small number of corrections have been identified and the Union would expect that once these are corrected, the Collective Agreement will be formally signed next week.
