The NZPFU has given notice to initiate bargaining (attached).

For the past few months the National Committee in consultation with the Locals has been putting together the bargaining claims and key matters for bargaining.

With FENZ’s restructure decisions there are new challenges and we have taken this opportunity to negotiate an extension of the coverage clause.  We have been approached by various FENZ employees seeking information on membership with the NZPFU and explanation on how they can be covered by the NZPFU agreement.

In addition, last week the Government released the attached public service pay guidance and Workforce Policy Statement on Employment Relations.

On Thursday the National Committee and Local representatives will meet by telephone conference to discuss the NZPFU bargaining strategy, key claims and the application and implications of the Government’s policy.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
