The Auckland Local Committee would like to remind Officers and Firefighters of the challenging work environment for our Comcen staff.

Standbys for incidents will normally be arranged by Incident Controllers, however, on occasion, Comcen may be required to move appliances for standbys and cover moves. When making decisions about who they send, they consider the availability and location of other appliances and attempt to consider how busy crews have been.

Officers are asked to respect the request for cover moves and standbys. If a crew has important work that will be disrupted by a cover move or standby, they should contact the Incident Controller or on-call Duty Executive.
