In the last notice that was sent out I updated you on the work of the Equipment Working Group.

STRUCTURAL FIREFIGHTING HELMETS

We are now in a position to begin ordering replacement F3 D Mark 2 Generation 2 Structural Firefighting Helmets.

These Helmets are to replace current operational F3 helmets that don't meet the current Structural Firefighting Helmet Standard, and to provide an alternative helmet for those members that require alternative PPE based on advice from a health practitioner.

If you meet either of these criteria please provide your name and helmet colour to your NZPFU Local Uniform Representative, if you haven't done so already.

MASK COMMUNICATIONS

035/2023: Potential BA mask communications issue

Recently, a National Safety Notice was issued around potential issues with the current BA Mask Communication unit not reproducing certain pitches of voices because of the noise cancellation function.

There is an online form on The Portal that, those who are having issues with their comms units, can fill out.

If you have any questions please speak to your NZPFU Local Uniform Representative.
