DAY 9 - Southland Support

Invercargill Labour List MP Dr Liz Craig met with Alex Forrest, NZPFU Southland Branch President Graeme (Norm) Gilroy and National Secretary Wattie Watson today.

It was a bonus to be talking to a MP who is also a medical doctor about firefighters’ occupational cancer. Dr Craig has voiced her support for a cross-party working group of MPs to get presumptive legislation across the line for firefighters.

It was then a road trip to show Alex a glimpse of beautiful NZ before meeting this evening with members in the historic Dunedin Fire Station.

Alex has met with hundreds of firefighters already and tomorrow takes the campaign to Auckland for a series of station visits.
