FENZ has finally agreed to update the list of positions able to access FireSuper membership to now include the CRR and RR Advisors/Senior Advisor positions.

The NZPFU has been raising the disparity for a long time which occurred with the implementation of Tranche 2 when FRMO positions (who were eligible to access FireSuper membership) were disestablished and CRR and RR roles were established. We checked with FireSuper and there was no barrier to the change, but it has taken FENZ a long time to get the issue resolved.  Apparently it required Board approval which we do not believe should have been necessary.

The outcome is that now all CRR and RR Advisors and Senior Advisors can apply to join – go to FireSuper for the information on the scheme and the application form which is at the back of the Product Disclosure Statement under the tab “join”.

FENZ has confirmed they will be contacting our members who have previously applied but were refused by FENZ.   If you do not get contacted, or want assistance from the NZPFU on this issue please email secretary@nzpfu.org.nz.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
