COVID-19 Update #13

This evening FENZ National Commander has issued a statement stating that the gowns distributed for medical response conform with standards for medical response under pandemic conditions.

The NZPFU is yet to be provided with any documentation that supports that statement and we have asked for supporting documentation to be provided.

In the interim and until we are provided with that documentation, it is the NZPFU position that the gowns should not be worn or used.

Please ensure that for medical response firefighters only use the overalls that we have had confirmation meets the standard.  Your local has been provided with that information by email previously.

Keep safe.

We appreciate the work you do to protect the community and the steps you take keeping yourselves and your families safe.

We will keep members informed.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
